Step-by-Step Instructions

  2. Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.

  4. Gradually whisk in 2 cups of warm milk and 1 cup of heavy cream until thickened.
  5. Season the sauce with garlic powder, ground mustard, salt, and pepper, then stir in the cheddar cheese until melted.
  6. Fold in the cooked macaroni and diced ham until evenly coated with sauce.
  7. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, sprinkle with additional cheese and breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
