Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and warm a cast-iron skillet inside for about 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 3 large eggs, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, and 1 cup of milk until smooth. Add in 3 tablespoons of melted butter, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper. Blend until fully combined, then let batter rest for 5 minutes.
- Remove the hot cast-iron skillet from the oven and add 1 tablespoon of butter, swirling to coat the bottom evenly.
- Pour the rested batter into the hot skillet, tilting it for even distribution.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon evenly over the top of the batter.
- Bake in the oven for 20 to 25 minutes without opening the door, until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, cool for a minute and garnish with parsley and chives before serving.
