Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Drain the pineapple in a fine mesh strainer and reserve the juice.
  2. Prepare the yellow cake mix according to package instructions, replacing water with reserved pineapple juice, and bake in a greased pan at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  3. Cool the cake in the pan on a wire rack for 30 minutes.
  4. Poke holes in the cooled cake with a skewer or fork.
  5. Spread the drained crushed pineapple over the cake.
  6. Whip the heavy whipping cream with sugar until medium-stiff peaks form.
  7. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add cold milk.
  8. Mix in the instant vanilla pudding until well combined and fluffy.
