Step-by-Step Instructions for Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups
- Start by trimming the crusts off your white sandwich bread slices for a neat finish. Using a rolling pin, flatten each slice until they are about ¼ inch thick; this will make them pliable for rolling.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon until well blended. Evenly spread this cinnamon-sugar filling across each flattened bread slice.
- Carefully roll each slice of bread tightly away from you, ensuring that the buttery filling stays inside. Press gently to seal the roll.
- In a shallow bowl, crack the three large eggs and add in 1 tablespoon of milk, along with ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract and ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Whisk until well combined and slightly frothy.
- Place a non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt about 2-3 tablespoons of butter.
- Dip each roll into the egg mixture and place seam-side down into the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Once golden, gently transfer the roll-ups to a plate. Optionally, dust them with powdered sugar or drizzle warm maple syrup over the top.
