Step-by-Step Instructions for Creamy Garlic Shrimp
- In a large bowl, toss the peeled and deveined large shrimp with paprika, salt, and black pepper. Set aside for 5 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the skillet.
- Lower the heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter to the skillet. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of chicken broth or white wine and stir to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, followed by 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Allow to simmer for another 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Return the seared shrimp to the skillet and gently toss in the creamy sauce. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes and garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
