  3. Add cream of tartar and whisk on high until soft peaks form (2-3 minutes).
  4. Gradually add granulated sugar, whisking on high until stiff, glossy peaks form (8-10 minutes).
  5. Fold in vanilla extract and green gel food coloring gently.
  6. Pipe tree shapes onto the baking sheet using a large star tip.
  7. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes without opening the oven door.
  8. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let meringues cool for 30 minutes inside.
