Step-by-Step Instructions for pesto with basil
  1. Gather all fresh ingredients for the pesto with basil. Rinse fresh basil leaves under cool water and dry them. Measure out pine nuts, garlic cloves, and grated Parmesan cheese.
  2. In a food processor, combine the fresh basil leaves and pine nuts. Pulse for about 10-15 seconds until coarsely chopped.
  3. Add garlic cloves and Parmesan cheese to the food processor. Pulse a few more times until well combined.
  4. With the food processor running, slowly pour in olive oil and lemon juice. Continue processing until smooth and creamy.
