Ingredients

For the Fudge Filling
  • 3 cups Milk Chocolate Chips Substitution: Dark chocolate can be used for a deeper flavor.
  • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk Ensure you use sweetened condensed milk, not evaporated milk, for the right consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Substitution: Use almond extract for a different flavor.
For the Coating
  • 1 cup White Chocolate Chips Any type of chocolate can replace white chocolate for a different look and taste.
  • 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips Using a mix of chocolates can enhance the flavor complexity.

Equipment

  • microwave-safe bowl
  • parchment paper
  • tablespoon

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine milk chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract. Stir well and microwave on half power for 1 minute, stirring afterward. Continue microwaving in 30-second increments until smooth, about 2-3 minutes total.
  2. Allow the fudge mixture to cool for about 3-4 minutes. Use a tablespoon to scoop and shape the fudge onto parchment paper into egg-like forms.
  3. Chill the fudge eggs in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes until set.
  4. Melt the remaining milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl using low power, stirring frequently, until smooth. In a separate bowl, melt white chocolate chips for drizzling.
  5. Dip each chilled fudge egg into the melted milk chocolate, letting the excess drip off. Place back on parchment.
  6. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the dipped eggs using a fork. Allow to set at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes.
  7. Store the set fudge eggs in an airtight container. They can be stored at room temperature for up to two weeks or refrigerated for longer freshness.
