  • 1 lb Lean Ground Beef Can swap with ground turkey or lamb
  • 1 tblsp Olive Oil Use extra virgin for richness
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) Finely grated
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano Fresh can be substituted
  • 1 tsp Ground Cumin
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Garlic Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt Can swap with vegan cashew yogurt
  • 2 tblsp Fresh Lemon Juice Vinegar can be used as a substitute
For the Wraps
  • 4 pieces Pita Bread or Flatbreads Gluten-free wraps also suitable
  • 1 cup Cucumber (diced) Can replace with lettuce
  • 1 cup Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1 small Red Onion (thinly sliced) Scallions can be milder alternative
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (crumbled) Omit for vegan version
  • to garnish Fresh Parsley or Dill

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add lean ground beef, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and pepper; brown for 7-8 minutes.
  2. While the meat is cooking, whisk together plain Greek yogurt, finely grated garlic, fresh lemon juice, a drizzle of olive oil, and a pinch of salt in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  3. Lightly warm the pita bread or flatbreads in the skillet for about 1-2 minutes on each side or wrap them in a damp paper towel and microwave for about 30 seconds.
  4. Spread garlic yogurt sauce over each warm pita. Add a hearty portion of beef mixture followed by cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onions. Sprinkle feta on top and add parsley or dill.
  5. Fold or roll each wrap tightly and serve immediately while warm.
