Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Christmas Sausage Rolls
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté onions and garlic until soft, about 3-4 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine sausage meat, sautéed onions, garlic, sage, thyme, pepper, and salt. Mix well.
- On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into rectangles of 4 inches by 6 inches.
- Take a spoonful of filling per pastry rectangle, roll and seal the edges. Crimp with a fork if desired.
- Cut each roll into smaller pieces of about 2-3 inches. Brush tops with beaten egg.
- Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
