- Begin by placing your 8x11 casserole dish on the counter. Evenly distribute the cubed Italian or French bread across the bottom.
- Next, layer the cubed cooked ham, thin asparagus and diced red pepper on top of the bread.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of milk, 8 eggs, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper until well blended.
- Place 6 slices of Swiss cheese on top of the casserole, overlapping the slices.
- Cover the casserole dish tightly with foil and refrigerate for at least two hours, or preferably overnight.
- When you're ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 40-50 minutes.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and garnish with diced green onions.
