  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Frozen Peas and Carrots substitute with fresh veggies if available
  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste or ketchup as a substitute
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce or vegan Worcestershire
  • 1 tablespoon Flour or gluten-free flour
Topping
  • 4 tablespoons Butter or olive oil for a lighter option
  • 4 cups Mashed Potatoes enhanced with roasted garlic or cheese if desired

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather your baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef or lamb over medium-high heat for 6–8 minutes, breaking it apart.
  3. Add diced onions and minced garlic, sautéing for 3–5 minutes until onions are translucent.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce, then add flour and mix for another minute.
  5. Pour in beef broth, stirring for 2–3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  6. Fold in frozen peas and carrots, cooking for another 2–3 minutes to warm the vegetables.
  7. Transfer the meat mixture into a baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  8. Spread the mashed potatoes over the filling, creating a smooth surface or rustic texture.
  9. Dot the top with small pats of butter.
  10. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  11. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
