Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by rinsing the fresh lilac blossoms thoroughly under cool water to remove any dirt or insects.
  2. Place the cleaned blossoms in a heatproof bowl and carefully pour hot (not boiling) water over them.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the lilac flowers steep for up to 15 minutes, watching carefully not to exceed this time.
  4. Use a fine mesh strainer to separate the lilac flowers from the liquid, pressing the blossoms to extract more essence.
  5. While the infusion is still warm, stir in the fresh lemon juice and honey until dissolved.
  6. Add 2-3 cups of cold water to the mixture, adjusting based on your taste preference.
  7. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving it over ice cubes.
