Ingredients
  

For the Croissants
  • 1 package Puff Pastry Use store-bought for convenience.
  • 8 oz Ham Thinly sliced quality ham.
  • 8 oz Cheese Gruyère or Swiss recommended.
  • 1 large Egg Beaten, for egg wash.
For Optional Fillings
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Dijon works great.
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Herbs Thyme or chives for flavor.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare your work area.
  2. Roll out your puff pastry sheets to about 1/8 inch thick and slice into triangles.
  3. Add ham and cheese at the base of each triangle. Optionally spread mustard or add herbs.
  4. Roll each triangle from base to tip to form croissants, tucking the point underneath.
  5. Make the egg wash by beating one egg and brush it over the tops of the croissants.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let cool on a wire rack for about 5 minutes before serving.
