Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, salt, black pepper, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix gently to combine.
  2. Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into patties about ¾ inch thick with a thumb indent in the center.
  3. Preheat the grill over medium heat, oil it, and grill the patties for 5–6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  4. Add a slice of Swiss cheese on top of each patty in the last minute of cooking, cover to melt.
  5. Toast the pretzel buns on the grill for about 1–2 minutes until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers with a patty on the bottom bun, topped with sauerkraut, crispy onions, and maple syrup or mustard, then cap with the top bun.
