Preparation Steps

  2. Arrange the frozen hash brown patties in a single layer at the bottom of the greased baking dish, pressing down gently.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheeses evenly over the hash browns, then top with diced ham and scallions.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk until smooth. Add salt, mustard, and garlic powder, and mix well.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients, cover with foil, and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and set.
  7. Let the casserole cool for about 10 minutes before slicing. Optionally, garnish with chopped scallions.
