Equipment

  • fine-mesh sieve

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Mango Iced Tea
  1. Start by boiling 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Once boiling, remove it from heat and add your black tea bags (or loose leaf tea). Let it steep for about 3 minutes until it reaches a deep amber color, then remove the tea bags and stir in 2 tablespoons of honey until fully dissolved. Allow the tea to cool completely.
  2. While the tea is cooling, take a ripe mango and peel it. Chop the mango into small chunks, then place the chunks in a blender with ½ cup of water. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth, creating a vibrant mango nectar.
  3. Next, set a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth over a bowl and pour the blended mango mixture into it. Use a spoon to press the pulp down and extract as much juice as possible. Discard the leftover pulp.
  4. Gather your serving glasses and fill each one with ice cubes. Pour the cooled tea into each glass until it is about two-thirds full, then gently pour the mango nectar over the tea.
  5. To elevate your presentation, garnish each glass with a slice of fresh mango on the rim. Serve your Mango Iced Tea immediately and enjoy!
