Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 13x9 baking dish with nonstick spray.
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat for 5-7 minutes. Add chopped onions and sauté for 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning and add half a cup of water, bringing to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat, add black beans, diced tomatoes with green chiles, and sour cream. Cook for about 8-10 minutes.
  5. Layer Fritos in the bottom of the baking dish, followed by one cup of shredded cheese and the beef mixture.
  6. Top with remaining shredded cheese, cover with foil, and bake for 15 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 5 minutes.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes and serve with toppings like green onions, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, or jalapeños.
